Goodboy Galaxy Team Joins Bitmap as part of Reef Creative Group – Coming to Switch on 30th October!

Bitmap Bureau are delighted to announce that the innovative team behind the out-of-this-world indie platformer Goodboy Galaxy are joining us and Reef Entertainment as part of the Reef Creative Group!
Much like our own titles, Goodboy Galaxy has been a real passion project for its creators, Rik and Jeremy. Originally developed for Game Boy Advance and backed by a successful Kickstarter campaign, Goodboy Galaxy has already captured the attention of retro fans worldwide. Now, it’s set to reach an even bigger audience when it releases on Nintendo Switch™ on 30th October 2026!
Pre-orders are now live on the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop. The Standard Edition sold on our shop includes an exclusive arcade token, a great addition to your copy and part of a growing set for long-time Bitmap Bureau fans, who may have previously collected our Terminatorâ„¢ 2D: NO FATE and Xeno Crisis tokens!
We believe this partnership will be a perfect fit, as both Bitmap Bureau and the Goodboy Galaxy team are aligned on the same core mission: melding retro design principles with modern sensibilities to create unique titles that feel timeless. Together with Reef, we are committed to supporting the team in delivering Goodboy Galaxy and Maxwell’s journey to both Kickstarter backers and new players worldwide. Beyond that, we’re already working together with them within the Reef Creative Group to create an exciting brand-new game. Stay tuned for info on that one!
While the Goodboy Galaxy team is now part of the Reef Creative Group and will operate within Bitmap Bureau, they remain independent, retaining full design autonomy over their projects, with Reef providing publishing, distribution, and production muscle to bring their games to a wide audience.Â

Kickstarter backers:Â
June 2026: Nintendo Switchâ„¢ eShop codes will be emailed to backers.
Starting July 2026: Kickstarter rewards – including physical GBA cartridges and Switch physical editions – will be shipped to backers via the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop. Backers will be contacted via email in the coming months with instructions on how to claim their rewards on our shop. Additional shipping charges may apply.
General Release:
From today: The Nintendo Switchâ„¢ version of Goodboy Galaxy is available to pre-order for UK and EU customers via the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop and selected retailers*. The Standard Edition sold on our shop includes an exclusive arcade token!
From today: A downloadable digital GBA ROM is available to purchase on the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop for use with flash cartridges or emulation.
30th October 2026: The Nintendo Switchâ„¢ version of Goodboy Galaxy will launch worldwide digitally on the Nintendo eShop** and physically across the UK and EU via the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop and selected retailers.Â
Date TBC: Once all Kickstarter backers’ orders have been fulfilled, Goodboy Galaxy physical GBA cartridges will be available to purchase via the Bitmap Bureau Online Shop.
*Note: A physical US release for the Nintendo Switchâ„¢ version of Goodboy Galaxy is yet to be confirmed, but US fans will be able to purchase the game for Nintendo Switchâ„¢ digitally via the Nintendo eShop.
**Note: Goodboy Galaxy will be launching on the Asian eShop pages (Japan, Korea, Hong Kong/Taiwan) on the 5th of November.
About Goodboy Galaxy
Maxwell the dog’s homeworld is on the brink of collapse. In a desperate bid to find help, he hyperjumps into the unknown, only to find himself stranded on the edge of a hostile star system. With rescue uncertain and the way home unclear, Maxwell will need the help of every friend (and every weapon) he can find.
